Team Gateway has three (3) U-19 squads "grandfathered" to participate at the National Hockey Festival in Palm Springs, CA over Thanksgiving.
     St. Louis U-19
     Midwest U-19
     Southwest U-19
Annually, Gateway Field Hockey submits applications to participate in the Hockey Festival lottery to try and secure additional teams for U-16 players.
Other then St. Louis, tryouts for the Team Gateway Elite squads will be held at camp sites in 2008. St. Louis tryouts will be held on March 2 at Nerinx High School.
There will be 18 players per team.
Players pay only a $10 tryout fee when they register for camp.

History of Team Gateway

Players from the Midwest and Southwest have been participating for twelve years on a variety of Gateway Teams at the National Hockey Festival. The teams represent the top players from Gateway Summer Camps and St. Louis Club members. These players are selected by camp coaches: made up of high school coaches, college coaches, college players, and international coaches and players.

The U-19 teams will consist of juniors and seniors and the U-16 team consists of 8th, 9th, 10th graders and some juniors. If you were 16 on January 1, 2008 you qualify for the U-16 team

Team Gateway Midwest will mainly consist of players from Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Cincinnati Gateway Summer Camps. Team Gateway Southwest players will primarily be from Ft. Worth, Houston, and Oklahoma City. Team Gateway St. Louis players will be selected from St. Louis.

In the past eleven years, almost 300 girls from the Gateway program will have gone on to play collegiate field hockey.
