Great Moments
Welcome to GATEWAY FIELD HOCKEY. We are very
proud of the many players who participate through our camps, leagues,
National Festival teams, and for their respective school teams. We hope that
in some small way we’ve helped players improve on their skills as they
compete for their high school and college teams. Following are some GREAT
MOMENTS in recent GATEWAY FIELD HOCKEY areas. Please take time to view the
following and please check back from time-to-time for additional GATEWAY
GREAT MOMENTS.
DID YOU KNOW?
Almost 300 players who have participated for TEAM GATEWAY at the National
Hockey Festival have gone on to play field hockey in college. Go to
the Alumni News link here in Fun Stuff to see a list of former Gateway Field
Hockey participants and where they attended college.

Meg O'Connell (left) with
Lafayette HS teammate Melissa Lantz at Busch Stadium where Meg was honored as the 2006 St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar
Athlete for LHS. Both players were 4-year starters at LHS for Kelly Yates, both earned All-Metro honors and Meg was the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year in both 20004 & 2005. Meg and Mel have gone on to start as freshman for their respective college teams. Meg plays at Indiana and Melissa at Missouri State. |
DID YOU KNOW?
TEAM GATEWAY FIELD HOCKEY has three teams “grandfathered” to participate in
the National Hockey Festival, due to its support of the Festival through the
years. We also participate in the lottery (which started in 2005) to field
additional teams, and had two additional teams in 2005 and one additional
team this year. We have four teams competing in the 2006 National Hockey
Festival in Palm Springs, California.
DID YOU KNOW?
Four (4) school sites which hosted GATEWAY CAMPS won their state or
conference postseason tournaments. Congrats and looking forward to being
with you again in our 2007 summer camp schedule.
