-
The objective of the Gateway Fall League
is to teach girls/boys 3rd-8th grade skills and strategies of field
hockey through instruction and game play. The coaches are volunteer
parents, former college players, or high school varsity players.
-
The time will be divided into 20 minutes
of skill instruction/warmup and then 2-25 minute halves of game play and
5 minute halftime break.
-
All games will be played on the Astroturf
fields at Anheuser Busch Sports Center-#1 Soccer Park Rd Fenton, MO
-
Players should play equal time and try a
variety of positions.
-
Team rosters will be kept to a maximum of
16 players. 12 is the ideal number so the players get maximum playing
time.
-
All players must wear a mouthguard,
shinguards and their uniform shirt. They will be given their uniform
shirt the first night. Any shorts, kilts, sweats are fine. Tennis shoes
or turf shoes will both work.
-
All equipment: sticks, shinguards,
mouthguards, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc will be sold the first night
only. After week one only mouthguards will be sold. Also STICKS MAY BE
BORROWED each week. Soccer shinguards will work. Bring your own water.

-
All
three divisions will keep scores weekly and the top teams will receive
championship t-shirts.
-
Good sportsmanship will be displayed at
all times by coaches, players and parents.
-
REGISTRATION/CHECK IN/MERCHANDISE SALES
will begin 30-minutes prior to each division's game time on Sunday.
