In its third year, Gateway Field Hockey's year long club will hold its tryouts for the 2008 team (April 2008-April 2009) on March 2 at Nerinx High School (astroturf field). Three age divisions U-14, U-16, U-19 will be selected, with 36 players being chosen for each division.

Players trying out for the U-16 squad may sign up for either time slot.
Two (2) year Club members are exempt from having to tryout, but must reconfirm with Kelly their intention to be a Club member for the 2008-2009 club season. The exempt players must return their paperwork and make their $500 Club fee payment no later then April 1, 2008.
A player's age is determined by their current age on January 1, 2008.
Cost of tryouts is $10 if you have a Gateway vest and $15 if you do not.
IMPORTANT: As has been previously communicated, players selected will only be allowed to play on one club team during the course of the 2008-2009 seasons
Rosters will be available on the Gateway website approximately 7:00 pm on Tuesday - March 4.
Payment of the $500 club fee and the return of required paperwork is due no later then April 1, 2008.
First practice will be Sunday night - April 6 - at the Anheuser Busch Soccer Park from 8:00 - 9:15 p.m.

Rosters will be shown at the Club Information - Rosters link. Over 150 players signed up to tryout for the three club teams last year.

Gateway's Club program started in 2006 and has already proven to give players an opportunity to participate in additional competition with St. Louis' top players. Throughout the year Gateway uses the areas top facilities for its camps, leagues and clinics. Most sessions are held at Anheuser Busch Soccer Park, CBC High School, and John Burroughs indoor fieldhouse.

The year long cost will be $500 for indoor and outdoor practices, clinics with college coaches, one week of summer camp, Junior Camp (for U-14s), winter practices, practices following spring league games, summer open league, and the opportunity to play in tournaments. Additional play in the the Gateway Spring, Fall, or Winter leagues will be at 1/2-price for Club members

Tournament teams will be selected from the club based on ability, year long participation, and availability. Additional costs will be incurred for each tournament, travel, and uniforms.

Last year the club participated in the National Hockey Festival in California; the Windy City U-14 tournament in Chicago; the USA / Disney Classic in Orlando and the IFHCK Tournament in Louisville. Players also enjoyed an opportunity to play with other club members in spring, summer, and winter leagues.
