2012 - 2013 Gateway Club Information
Gateway's Club program started in 2006 and has already proven to give players an opportunity to participate in additional competition with St. Louis' top players. Throughout the year Gateway uses the areas top facilities for its camps, leagues and clinics. Sessions will be held at Anheuser Busch Soccer Park (outdoor), or Gateway Sports Center (indoor).
By committing to play on a Gateway Club team the player is agreeing to participate exclusively with this select team on a year-round basis - both in outdoor and indoor field hockey.
IMPORTANT: As has been previously communicated, players selected will only be allowed to play on one club team during the course of the 2012-2013 seasons
The year long cost will cover indoor and outdoor practices, clinics with college coaches, one week of summer camp, summer open league, skills training throughout the year (not in the summer) and the opportunity to play in tournaments. Additional play in the the Gateway Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter leagues will also be included as part of the club fee.
Tournament teams will be selected from the club based on ability, year long participation, and availability. Additional costs will be incurred for each tournament, travel, and uniforms.
Gateway Field Hockey will be participating in the 2013 National Indoor Qualifying Tournament. In 2008, 2010, and 2011 Gateway's U-19 team advanced to the National Indoor Tourney in Virginia Beach.

- Selection to the teams attending the National Festival, USFHA Disney Showcase, and the NEW CLUB REGIONAL & NATIONAL Championships will be based on skill level, attendance and year-round participation in Gateway Field Hockey Club events.
- Any player who played the entire year for the 2011-2012 Gateway club team is "grandfathered" into the Gateway Club program. Players who joined the club from the fall indoor tryouts will need to participate in the March 4 club tryouts.

- In its seventh year, Gateway Field Hockey's year long club holds its tryouts for the 2012 team (March 2012-April 2013) on March 4 at Nerinx High School (astroturf field).
- The $875 club fee pays for full involvement in Gateway's programs for the entire year.
- We would appreciate players returning all their paperwork and at least a $450 initial payment at the MANDATORY PARENT / PLAYER meeting on March 6 at the Gateway Sports Center.
Both the $875 full payment / or $450 initial payment and paperwork must be received no later then MARCH 15 to confirm their spot on the 2012-2013 club team. - The remaining balance must be received no later then July 15. A $50 late payment fee will be assessed if the balance due is not received by July 15. If the balance has not been received by August 1 the club member will be dropped from the roster.
- We can accept payment by VISA or MasterCard. A $10 credit card service fee will be assessed on payments made by card at the March 6 meeting; on payments made prior to March 15 to hold the club members roster spot; or on a final payment on a remaining balance which must be made prior to July 15.
- Club Fee includes: one summer camp; summer open league; spring league and practices; fall practices for U-10 / U-12 & U-14 teams; fall league; winter league; winter practices; play in some tournaments; clinics; and special events.
- Uniforms, out of town trip expenses, and participation fees for regional and national tournament are extra costs for team members would included, but not be limited to: uniforms, out of town trip expenses, participation fees for regional and national tournaments, STRIDE lessons, private lessons, indoor tournaments, fitness training, and participation in the US Futures.
- A player's club level is determined by their current age on January 1, 2012.
- Cost of tryouts is $20.
Club Tryouts
U-10 / U-12 & U-14 Teams: These teams are recommended to players who are very serious and would like to make field hockey a top priority for high school. These teams travel to tournaments, have practices, and clinics. The cost is $20 for tryouts.
U-16 & U-19 Teams: These teams are for the elite, serious field hockey player who has an interest in playing with the top players in St. Louis, preparing for a possible college career. Both teams travel to tournaments, have practices, and leagues. The cost is $20 for tryout fee. Players who are returning full year Gateway Club members are exempt from the tryouts.
U-16 & U-19 Teams: These teams are for the elite, serious field hockey player who has an interest in playing with the top players in St. Louis, preparing for a possible college career. Both teams travel to tournaments, have practices, and leagues. The cost is $20 for tryout fee. Players who are returning full year Gateway Club members are exempt from the tryouts.
