Team Camp
- Team camp will only be held in St. Louis (July 9 & 10 or July 11 & 12).
- Team and individual camp members will receive top level instruction from Gateway’s staff of international and college coaches / players.
- High school coaches are welcome and encouraged to attend, learn new techniques, be a part of the action.
- Team concepts such as pressing, outletting the ball, team defense, circle attack, corner transitions, and the self pass rule.
- Sixteen (16) high school teams per team camp session
- Each school may enter up to three rosters (10–13 players per team)
- Team camp will have varsity - JV - JV/C divisions for game play.
- Players will sign up individually and be placed with their high school teammates.
Camp Information -2012 Camps
- All fees for camps are $170 (prior to April 15) - $190 after April 15 - and
$200 DAY OF CAMP walk up fee. - See the camp registration page for the complete fee structure.
- Camp registration for grades 1st-12th, in all cities.
- All sites will have a goalkeeper coach.
- All campers receive a Gateway Camp T-shirt as part of their fee.
Camp Objectives
- Improve player skill development for girls or boys, grades 1st-12th
- Teach beginners the game of field hockey
- Teach advanced players strategies, positional play, and advanced skills and tactics
- Players are grouped according to age and skill level.
Equipment
- Players are required to have their own equipment: stick, shoes, mouthguard, shinguards and goalie equipment (goalies only).
- All items (except for shoes) can be purchased at the camp site prior to each session.
- To borrow goalie equipment, players must contact Kelly Yates prior to the camp.
- In addition, a variety of sticks, balls, stickbags, shorts, tank tops, and novelty items will be sold during registration and at each session.
- A limited number of "borrow sticks" are available at camps.
