Gateway Field Hockey

Kate and Meg (Kelly's daughters) are home from college at Indiana and available to schedule private lessons for anyone interested. Both have grown up with Gateway Field Hockey and went on to play at IU. Kate recently graduated, is back in St. Louis on a permanent basis, and will teach and coach at Lafayette High School. Meg, a two year starter at IU, is home for the summer. For more information or to schedule a time, please feel free to contact one of the girls.

Extra special congratulations to three U.S.A. Olympic Field Hockey team members who recently helped the squad earn a berth in the 2008 Olympic Games. Kayla Bashore (Indiana), Lauren Powley (Maryland), and Barb Weinberg (Iowa) are members of the USA squad and all three have coached Gateway teams at the National Hockey Festival and have conducted special instructional clinics for Gateway Club Members. Great job ladies - we're very proud of you and your teammates and wish you much success in the 2008 Games.

Six Gateway teams participated in the AIM - Head to Toe Tournament (April 2008) collectivley finishing with a 20-6-4 record, scoring 98 goals and allowing only 31. In the JUNIOR DIVISION (6-8 graders) Gateway teams finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. In the SENIOR DIVISION (9-11 grades) Gateway teams finished 2nd, 4th, and 5th.

Gateway's RED team (JUNIOR DIVISION) finished 1st in the AIM - Head to Toe Tourney with a 5-0 record, scoring 35 goals and only allowing 2.

Gateway Field Hockey's U-19 RED team won it's pool at the recent USFHA Disney Classic, and finished 5th among 48 teams in the U-19 Divison. Gateway had six teams compete at Disney, two each in U-19; U-16; and U-14. Follow the link below to view the photo page for 2008 Disney with team and action shots.

2007 GATEWAY FIELD HOCKEY USFHA NATIONAL HOCKEY FESTIVAL TEAMS AT PALM SPRINGS - GATEWAY HAD 5 TEAMS AT THE FESTIVAL

the campers and league players throughout the year.

CONGRATULATIONS to the girls recently named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's field hockey All-Metro Team. Gateway Field Hockey is proud to note that of the 12 first team selections, 10 of them are "Gateway Club Girls." Along with these 10, 21 others named to either the 2nd team, or honorable mention are Gateway Field Hockey club members.       (Dec. 5, 2007)
